Industrial Gases
For a major 10-site nuclear fleet utility, led and staffed entire category team through change management of industrial gases. Reduced annual spend by 45% in year one, and negotiated a multi-index based model that resulted in further cost reduction at the beginning of year two of the contract, especially notable because of the highly volatile 2008-09 market.
Small Parcel Delivery
Led and staffed the category team that included a brand new client category manager, to reduce the number of small parcel suppliers from 6 to a more beneficial number. Created volume discount and rebate plans that achieved 40% cost reduction. Created a supplier monitoring system that captured additional rebates from delivery failures, assuring contracted savings.
Industrial Chemicals
For a major nuclear and fossil utility, led and performed sourcing efforts for industrial chemicals.
Obtained immediate savings of 5% on day one and achieved overall savings of 15-30% in three regional markets. Negotiated multiple index-based, multiple market pricing formula in Mid-West and East Coast production sites. Obtained additional perpetual savings by lowering the historical contract’s price basis, resulting in a total savings by region of 17-35%.
Services
For global financial institution, performed staffing support for marketing and IT services reducing suppliers to a workable number of high performers— 3 marketing and 6 IT services. Reduced spend by 12% and cost of management by 15%.
Performed opportunity assessment for $11B utility to evaluate feasibility of strategically sourcing to MWBE firms, identifying seven categories that would produce 10-15% savings and could be performed by competent MWBE firms.
Strategically sourced waste management, recycling services, portable toilets. Obtained 5% savings in waste management and recycling, and 20% savings in portable toilets by recommending unbundling the contract and awarding to a diverse supplier. Added to diversity spend, an important goal for this company.
Construction
For an oil/gas company, led a cross-functional team (over 50+) in the development of an Alliance structure for all pipeline construction and maintenance work. On $360M in approximate 3 year spend, realized a 30% cost reduction on pipeline construction costs.
Led a gas construction strategic sourcing project at a Northeastern utility. Scope included sourcing all direct bury pipe, horizontal directional drilling and horizontal boring. Developed a steel pipe alliance strategy to facilitate reliability and growth requirements of system infrastructure.
Led a sourcing/process improvement initiative for a California utility. Scope of work included all electric constructions services (substation, O/H and U/G T&D, civil) for the utility. On spend of $68M, achieved savings benefits of $10M (14%) and increased Tier 1 supplier diversity from 22% to 42%.
Utilized Power Advocates on-line bidding process to host and lead two separate Natural Gas Transmission Pipeline projects in the Delta Wetlands and Stockton areas. Total spend was approximately $29.5M.
Led two Strategic Sourcing team for one of the largest utilities in North America. Prime area of focus is $150M annual spend in contracted construction services related to all electric substations, wood pole replacement, overhead transmission and distribution lines and all underground gas and electric transmission and distribution lines. Achieved 10.1% savings on $150M in annual spend and increased Supplier Diversity participation from 7% to 18%

For a global money center bank, conducted strategic sourcing and commercial management services for the credit card operation. Identified $1.0 million in savings while sourcing card manufacturing and personalization services.
Strategic Sourcing Diagnostics and Modeling
For a leading manufacturer of office furniture, delivered a strategic sourcing diagnostic. Engagement focused on quantifying the benefits of strategic sourcing and delivered an ROI of over $2.5MM annually. An assessment of the sourcing organization was executed identifying gaps and a set of actionable results that enabled the sourcing organization to lead and support the aggressive growth strategies of the organization.
For an international oil and gas exploration firm, developed a sourcing and procurement competency model. The model was developed for skill-set categories such as strategic sourcing, suppler management, purchasing practices, industry/commodity expertise, change management, consulting skills, project management skills, and negotiation/contract management.
For $2B service organization to the Aerospace and Defense industry, performed a blitz 6-week supply chain assessment of its $2B service organization. Developed a program that could yield client $30M in annual savings through strategic sourcing and business process re-engineering
Consumer
For dairy industry, business process transformation initiative at Canada’s leader in the dairy food industry. Key focus area was improving the S&OP, ensuring the needs of the customer are fulfilled through the synchronization of the financial, sales plan and operational plan. Managing the supply chain required a customer-centric approach where optimal inventory levels were maintained through the incorporation of the demand and supply plan processes. Annual ROI was $2.4MM.
For large distributor of promotional apparel in Canada, developed a strategic sourcing strategy. Objective was to reduce total cost of cost of goods sold without erosion of customer fill rates and quality of product. Reduced working inventory from $18 million to $14.2 million in 5 months while maintaining existing customer fill rates.
